Year End Celebration

9/8/2018

We closed out the regular season with a celebration of food, drink and bocce. Attendance was estimated at over 125 people. Several people came to find out about joining the league next year. From the full recycling bins at the end of the day, we have declared this inaugural event a success! With a little better promotion next year, we expect to double the fun. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped put on the event. We’d also like to recognize the folks at PG&E for their generous donation of $1,500 to the league to fund much of the cost of the event.

Playoff Bracket

9/1/2018

The regular season has come to a close. The standings have been calculated. And, the playoffs are ready to begin.

The Playoff schedule is now online, complete with which teams are playing and when. Check back regularly as playoffs matches complete and we fill out the bracket. And join us on the courts on Sept. 16 to watch the exciting conclusion to this year's season, as we crown our championship team.

If your team is in the playoffs, remember that you may be playing on a different night than you normally do.

Registration Results

2/26/2018

Attention all Rollers!

The 2018 Benicia Bocce League registration results are in. A total of 60 teams registered this year, 54 returning teams and 6 new teams with just under 600 total league members. Of those 60 teams, amazingly only 1 team was not able to get its first choice. All other teams will play on their preferred day/night.

We still have room for 3 teams to round out seven 9 team divisions. The Sunday morning division needs 2 additional teams and Sunday evening needs 1 team. Although the registration deadline has passed, we are actively seeking to fill those 3 vacancies. If you know anyone who’s still thinking about joining the league and can play on Sunday, please have them contact us at info@beniciabocce.org as soon as possible.

With the 9 team division format, we will be returning to a 16 match season with 2 bye weeks per team. Schedules will be released once we finalize the Sunday division makeup. We are targeting Sunday April 22nd to start the season, weather permitting.

Capos, please note that roster changes are allowed up until to the end of the 3rd week of the season and can be made through your registration confirmation notice.

Many of you still need to sign the online liability waiver that was emailed to you when your team was registered. In some cases, those emails have been found in junk or spam folders. Please check with your capo if you are having difficulties. They are able to resend the waiver, if needed.

The Capos & Co-Capos meeting will be held at 10:00am on Saturday, April 7th in the basement of the Vet’s Hall at the 1150 1st Street. It is mandatory that both the capo and co-capo attend this meeting.
